Daisy, my sweet and suddenly elderly bulldog perched on her favorite chair in the kitchen of the Villa Carlotta. Daisy only lived a few months after this photograph was taken, but had already outlived her expectancy, defied the odds. "It's because she is so loved," the doctor had said the year before, following her exam. And she was.
